Is anyone going to the first comps of the season? Eps are advertising for them as early as Nov, just wondering if anyone had actually decided to try and go if its allowed. If you are which ones?

We know which ones we want to do but as of this moment we haven't committed to any, think that is the same with most gyms, once we can stunt and know we will be allowed to compete I'm sure things will be clearer

Do we think that we will have a season this year?

Realistically there probs won’t be a season.. if nobody is going to enter comps until they are confident they can go ahead then eps won’t be able to actually keep them.
Some of the earlybird deadlines for 2021 comps are this year. If it looks like no one is entering the eps will just cancel them. It’s going to be a huge decision for everyone but IMO I don’t see many events happening.
There’s just too much uncertainty. I also see the larger eps going bust as the fees are just too high in this current pandemic and with larger events I’m sure the eps have expenses to be paid in advance. If no one is going to enter/register for the earlier events then I foresee a huge knock in effect for the whole season. It’s going to scary to see what happens this season.

There is no way they can afford the big venues without spectators and the money they spend on the day. The comps would need to be in smaller places, maybe each programme in on their own. Cant see comps being they way they have been this season

If and when Football fans start to get into Stadiums then surely spectators will be allowed in to competitions. You need spectators, otherwise there would be no atmosphere. There will be lots of changes, as long as it is safe for both the athletes and the spectators.

@post10, football stadiums are outdoors so less of a problem.

Theatres and cinemas have started to look into spectators so I expect competition venues will as well. They'll need to make seating deserved though and put in measures (such as plastic screens between seats) to enable social distancing

Could EPS not give each team a allocated time to come to the venue and in their allocated time, allow them to compete all their routines whether it’s cheer, hiphop etc (obviously, time must include time for costume changes) that way the teams can be on the floor and be judged properly and that way no teams are mixing and teams have the chance to compete?

Fc didn’t give all their bids out last time so I assume even with bids being carried over they still have some left that they could give out this time if it goes ahead

Will make for an interesting comp as unless we didn't have a bid I would not bother travelling to any comp. Costs just arnt worth it for people this year for our families, luckily our team feels the same way and I assume it's the same for most teams that would have a substantial travel to it. We hope to do at least 1 local comp if possible.
What about the other nationals. Does anyone have an idea what's going to happen this season?

Some competitions may be viable for the Under 18 age groups, but I doubt top level Senior/international teams will feel at all ready. Look out for more club showcases in July instead.

@post20 that’s not how the worlds bid process works. If bids have been carried over then no eps will award bids this year

@post24. There are 4 bid giving eps all with comps advertised for June/July but as bids have already been carried over for the teams that won them in 2019 then those teams will attend worlds 2022 as they should have done this year and in 2020!

Why is everyone so hell bent on worlds birds senior teams can’t even train until the last so it’s very doubtful and senior teams will even go to comps.
To get a works team ready after restrictions after lifted and by beginning of July is very unrealistic and I think it’s time everyone just accepted that and move on 💁🏻‍♂️

@post26, clear guidance for sports haven't been released yet, I presume the respective Governing bodies will have to do some work with the DCMS again first. But the BBC website shows the roadmap and it says 17 May for Adult indoor sports and exercise classes - however, cheer is a very close contact sport so I'd be surprised if we are allowed to train as normal from there.

I don't want to go to any competitions this season. Even if Bournemouth goes ahead there isn't enough time to train once restrictions lift and I imagine it will take some of us a bit of time to get back into the swing of things. I've tried to keep fit but stunting is not something you can truly recreate the feeling of

Over 18s is outdoor training only until mid may then can return to indoor training. Social distancing is in place until 21st June.

I can’t see the SCE return to play being approved for stunting this time round as BG had theirs declined (for contact etc)

Anyone planning to do later events?

I feel it would be safer to have no comps this season even though that would be upsetting, and work towards next season with more normality and more ppl would be vaccinated and safe.
