Just some fun, who would you say are the best all rounded coaches in the uk, you can only pick five. I know some are great at choreo others stunts but who can do it all?

I really think it depends on the style of coaching you prefer as to who you think the best coaches are. If you’re talking in terms of results cheer wise it’s gotta be coaches from unity, cov, crimson, zodiacs, sa.

Top 5 coaches above have all had world's teams or level 5 teams at some point. No offence to thwm and great they have had such amazing achievments but there are better coaches out there then those mentioned above. Just because they've had those oppertunities it doesn't make them the TOP UK coaches

Can we not start the Samantha Brisbane stuff - her teams are great but I’m sure as a professional she wouldn’t appreciate the bitching.

Claire McCreath Gold Star
Matt from OA
Rebecca Gray SACA
Charlie ADA
Pam, Emma. Jodi RSD

Reluctant to say JCP after the clear copying of choreography last season unfortunately which is a shame because they are a very successful, skilled team. Hopefully they can bring some original choreo this year.

I don’t really see anything wrong with saying Samnatha if we’re “allowed” to say Claire, Matt, Rebecca etc?!

What I’ve said is from tiny to senior Brisbane excelled in hiphop, pom and jazz, and not many teams can say they do all three. Whether it’s Ashley or Samantha it’s none of my business - I’m not one of her kids, but I think whoever it is is a bloody good coach and deserves to have their name in here.

@post20 absolutely no issue with Samantha being named, she is a fab coach with teams who excel at every age and division like you say. I was referring to the post which said “let the dance bitching begin” since there has already been a Samantha/Ashley thread and it wasn’t very pleasant. That’s why I said Samantha probably doesn’t want her name here if it was going to start another drama.

Emma and Pam from RSD come up with some of the most innovative choreography for their dance teams

I love Claire from gold stars senior choreography is next to none when it comes to formations and levels in dance

I think Ashley is going to choreograph and create some of the most beautiful lyrical dances we’ve ever seen

Matt from architects already created some winning and dynamic hip hop routines for so early in their existence

In regards to kindness some of the nicest coaches I have come across are TCA Jane, Predators Becky, Unity Amanda just to name a few

@post47 And what exactly does he do that most other coaches don’t also do?
There are so many great coaches out there that all do the same job, especially the smaller programme who don’t have too US/Canadian coaches do all their choreo, yet still place well (above the well known programme more often than not too) but most don’t get recognised because they are very humble and don’t brag or make a huge scene.
This is a stupid thread. All coaches put in the same amount of time and effort and run their programmes in different ways. They should all be respected and recognised. End of.

@post48, 'All coaches put in the same amount of time and effort and run their programmes in different ways'

Respectfully disagree.

Some coaches put in loads of work and get little in the way of success because their methods aren't efficient, others can just walk into a gym unprepared and be an athletes 'best coach they ever had' simply because they know what they are doing.

The best coaches are the ones that know when to take risks and know when to play it safe.

The best coaches are the ones who recognise there is very little in the way of science/research in cheer so know that there are no right answers.

The best coaches are the ones who are willing to change their opinions and learn from their mistakes and more importantly from the mistakes of others.

It's impossible to say who is the best, because nobody has been coached by every coach. I think people on this forum should be able to give their opinions on who is the best and people are allowed to disagree. Just be respectful because you're talking about actual humans.

@post49, The only thing I would add is there is not one best coaching method and what works for one child and makes them shine, for another will result in the withering of their confidence. Great coaching has to be flexible and adaptable to the child.

@post57, haha funny joke with the Gareth! gareth is the biggest bully out there and won’t stop until he has drained everything out of someone and until they hate the sport! I agree he knows stuff but he barely actually coaches the girls he leaves that down to the other coaches. He threats the girls to get what he wants and makes fun of them so then they are ashamed of themselves. So I’m sorry but have to disagree with him being the top 5 coaches in the UK

Nobody would put up with their children being treated badly to stay on a team when they are so many other teams out there! Iv only even seen positive comments and actions towards not only his own athletes but athletes from other teams!

Cheer is such a compelling sport and it makes you fall in love with it, what Gareth does is pulls that love away from you, just because he might have a fast growing team has nothing to do with him but with the other coaches and the girls who put 110% in and out of the gym. Gareth makes cheer a chore and you’d be surprised at how many cross overs they have because they constantly lose people. He also goes around saying about how if the parents say a word then the child automatically gets kicked out so no one says anything and it’s then draining.

Please, they have hardly any crossovers now, as that’s what they want to avoid.
How come all the Athletes have fun every post you see on insta, they are all having fun..
I’m sure they work hard as well, as that’s what you have to do, to become one of the best squads in the country.. but there has to be a balance, and I can definitely see that at Crimson..

@post65 yet his still got a strong cheer business! If his girls were threatened and bullied by him making them so unhappy as your trying to imply, these girls and their parents have plenty of other cheer teams to choose to swap to, yet clearly choose to stay with Gareth so speaks for itself really doesn’t it!! Sounds more like you’re a disgruntled parent whose child didn’t get the position they wanted on his team!! Stop spreading your venom 🐍

I just love how when someone has an opinion that doesn’t suit everyone else then that person is always shot down and wrong??!

It’s ok for everyone to have a difference In opinions. Just because one person has a good experience of someone doesn’t mean everyone else did.

I personally know Gareth can be both lovely and a bully. I’ve witnessed it first hand. It doesn’t make him a bad person or coach, it makes him human.

Bloody hell this thread is so vileπŸ˜‚
I guarantee you that all of the gareth haters have been told a bunch of lies as he is such an amazing coach and all of the girls have fun at training.
He is not a bully and does not threaten the girls.
Before you try and come for someone, actually get your facts straight.
All of you haters are probably just someone that is jealous of how good their team is and you probably just want him as your coach but you don’t. So your horrible about it.

it's true though isn't it it, look at the starting line up for cheer then look at the kids that actually went, many pulled out along the year and kids had to be pulled in that hadn't originally got in to fill the places. if this was a national football team and the biggest pool of talent (let's not deny it the only two teams that compete at this level are goldstar and jc so therefore the majority of the best athletes in the country are going to be there for cheer anyways) you would be asking why arnt we putting our best foot forward. this will only happen once there is a fair and unbiased system in place and no one can blame these teams for staying clear of this until there is a better system. i applaud every kid that goes for this but it's a national team, it's just about giving these kids the experience it's about doing our best and not being a laughing stock when we step out of the mat because the kids arnt anywhere near ready for this level of competition

It’s the CDC and Rockstar machine now, if it was fair people would be jumping at the chance to compete but it is NOT! Teams also don’t want to lose athletes to CDC coaches from getting in there ears! What coaches would want to send their athletes knowing what’s going to happen! I salute them for not sending them! TS could be amazing

because some teams do not need to fall into line and work under a shady system for their athletes to be successful so choice not to be involved.

Having read all comments I can’t understand why all Scottish teams can’t come together!
In doing so creating an amazing elite team of athletes, instead people are choosing to criticise those willing to stand up & be counted.
Teams such as JC & gold star would bring a lot to team Scotland however as both teams don’t seem to be involved then why knock CDC.
Having been to comps in Scotland & England CDC without question have amazing coaching staff with a wealth of experience & success. In my opinion I would be delighted for my child when old enough to compete as part of a national team. This is definitely something for children to be proud of...why any coach would stop a child participating is beyond me!!!!
