Do you not just love when you offer a placing to an athlete and you get a reply, my child won't be back as it's not in her best interest, when she doesn't have any tumble won't work on any tumble.

I think if this is a coach starting this thread, very unprofessional. I completely understand it may be frustrating, but to bad mouth not only the parent and the child on an anonymous thread? Not very nice at all.

Well they didn't mention any names, so I'm sure the unknowing parent will get over it?

Not really the point, still very unprofessional. Keep it to yourself.

@post4, have you dealt with parents before? Sometimes they are an absolute nightmare

No I haven’t because I’m not a coach I’m an athlete. But if I was a coach I’d be a bit more professional than to slate someone on a forum just because they didn’t want to accept their offer. It happens to every team, get over it.
To write a rude message about a parent is one thing, but to involve the child is just wrong.

@post6 but they didn’t involve the child, they quoted the parents message. I’ve coached for 12 years and in some places I’ve worked the parents are really appreciative of what you do for their children and this helped us create a positive, hard working environment for the teams. In other places it’s been a completely thankless task and the parents have caused constant drama and stress, messaging at all hours and expecting us to bend over backwards for them no matter how rudely they ask. I’ve now stopped coaching classes for children as a result. It’s important that coaches are supported and sometimes sharing frustration helps. No one has been named, we can’t identify the coach from this post never mind the parent or child. Its not unprofessional - you can pass judgment when you start coaching and see what it really involves.

They commented on the child’s tumbling (or lack of in this case). I don’t mean to be rude with my posts I’m just saying maybe not the best way to vent? I’m fully aware of what it’s like. I have coached in the past and I understand parents can be so frustrating and think they know best. I was just saying I don’t agree with the way that it’s been handled. I’m allowed to voice my opinion just like you all have. Again, I’m not trying to be a bitch or nasty or anything like that so I’m sorry if that’s how I come across. I just personally wouldn’t of done that, now or when I was a coach.

Have a lovely day xxx

Coaches are paid by weekly class fees not fundraised money. This is instead of being paid.

it's true though isn't it it, look at the starting line up for cheer then look at the kids that actually went, many pulled out along the year and kids had to be pulled in that hadn't originally got in to fill the places. if this was a national football team and the biggest pool of talent (let's not deny it the only two teams that compete at this level are goldstar and jc so therefore the majority of the best athletes in the country are going to be there for cheer anyways) you would be asking why arnt we putting our best foot forward. this will only happen once there is a fair and unbiased system in place and no one can blame these teams for staying clear of this until there is a better system. i applaud every kid that goes for this but it's a national team, it's just about giving these kids the experience it's about doing our best and not being a laughing stock when we step out of the mat because the kids arnt anywhere near ready for this level of competition

It’s the CDC and Rockstar machine now, if it was fair people would be jumping at the chance to compete but it is NOT! Teams also don’t want to lose athletes to CDC coaches from getting in there ears! What coaches would want to send their athletes knowing what’s going to happen! I salute them for not sending them! TS could be amazing

because some teams do not need to fall into line and work under a shady system for their athletes to be successful so choice not to be involved.
