Hi all, i don't suppose anyone knows how you join an American team? By this i mean how would you sort out accommodation, possible studying etc... I know it's a long shot asking this but i'm completely clueless. I understand there have been a few athletes to make the move recently so i would like to get a better understanding for the possible future.

It's probably too late for this 2021/2022 season.

However, for the future, you'd want to contact the programme you're interested in trying out for in advance via email, asking what services they provide for athletes.
Most programmes will help you with the visa application process once you're successful, beware that you cannot stay in the US longer than 90 days with the standard ESTA.

Teams like Cheersport Sharks (yes, I know it's Canada) have shared "athlete houses" where you pay X amount between a number of athletes (so you probably would want to save in advance before going for it). Other places like Cali and Top Gun have volunteer parent houses, where you chip in something like $500 or 600/month for your living expenses, and the family gives you meals and a bed.
With regards to studying, it very much depends on your visa type - you will have to have enrolled at an educational institution prior to moving out there.
Same with working - you will need a work visa to work in the US, if you need to.

All the very best.

Teams who have done this deserve to be stripped of their title their is an age grid for a reason to allow fairness throughout

Personal opinion as an outsider

- comments about whether people are disabled are not are dumb. Just because you can’t see things does absolutely not mean they aren’t there. Do you expect for disabled athletes to stick a note to their forehead saying “I have xyz” to appease all the people questioning their disabilities? That is so damaging so I hope people learn not to do that.
- should’ve been set up at ground routes but certain individuals just wanted to use it as a way to be in the limelight in the first place. Due to it not being ground routes comps don’t know how to mark routines etc as they’ve not got guidance.
- pretty sure athletes only got on because they demanded it, and disabled people did care about the safety in the team. I’ve not seen anyone say that before.

If paracheer had have been started at ground routes and not at worlds then there would be no problems with people and coaches wanting to be there for a quick win at worlds. Athletes would have to work on skills from the ground up and then when it went to worlds the team would have more disabled people.
It’s easy to see who set the whole thing up and that shows in all the way it worlds that it’s just been done to suite them- not for disabled people.
The reputation of that person is well known and its for a good reason.
