So with the news being out of all EP's following ISAF rules what the point now with all the different divisions? Surely instead of (and abuse this as example) junior 1 and international junior 1 surely we just just have one or the other and we all just enter "international 1" blah blah blah. It makes sense now instead of have 20 million divisions right?

What does everyone think?

agreed there are far to many divisions now especially now we have prep/novice/nt and the split, 4.2 is ok but some teams having 2.1 for example, i don't see the point in that. doesnt international have to be 16 members at least. some clubs may struggle with that.

@post3, yes as far as I'm aware 16 or less but scuk can always remove that restriction as just do the general split. Also has anyone else heard that summit teams are gonna be judged on USASF rules? Even if theyvare international. How is this gonna work? Especially when we dont get these rules over here.

All the summit teams will compete in the international division so will be scored under isaf rules.

@post5, I think you'll find that an email went out to people letting them know that all of summit including international will be scored on USASF rules. Unless something has changed recently

Varsity don’t follow IASF rules at their US events. The summit is a varsity event so even teams competing in international divisions will be scored following the USASF rules when competing at the summit. However I assume these teams will still be scored based on IASF rules when competing in this country otherwise all teams going summit would need to be in divisions on their own because you can’t have teams competing against each other using different rules

On varsity website

What scoring will be used for Varsity All Star qualifying events?
Teams competing in the International Divisions will be scored on the standard Varsity All Star score sheet, but the scores will be reweighted to more closely resemble the IASF score sheet used at The Summit & The Cheerleading Worlds. At all US-based Varsity All Star events (including The Summit), teams must adhere to the USASF level rules when competing on the IASF score sheet. We will not be using IASF safety levels at any US-based Varsity All Star events.

Will all EPs go with minimum 16 athletes this year? Seems unfair on small programmes jumping from minimum 5 last season.

Doubt it, it will probably just be rules that change this year and division changes may be next year. The age grid is already out and some of the early competitions are already open for entries.

What’s going on with international level 4 being able to 1 1/2 up to extension and international 3 doing full ups to extension?

it's true though isn't it it, look at the starting line up for cheer then look at the kids that actually went, many pulled out along the year and kids had to be pulled in that hadn't originally got in to fill the places. if this was a national football team and the biggest pool of talent (let's not deny it the only two teams that compete at this level are goldstar and jc so therefore the majority of the best athletes in the country are going to be there for cheer anyways) you would be asking why arnt we putting our best foot forward. this will only happen once there is a fair and unbiased system in place and no one can blame these teams for staying clear of this until there is a better system. i applaud every kid that goes for this but it's a national team, it's just about giving these kids the experience it's about doing our best and not being a laughing stock when we step out of the mat because the kids arnt anywhere near ready for this level of competition

It’s the CDC and Rockstar machine now, if it was fair people would be jumping at the chance to compete but it is NOT! Teams also don’t want to lose athletes to CDC coaches from getting in there ears! What coaches would want to send their athletes knowing what’s going to happen! I salute them for not sending them! TS could be amazing

because some teams do not need to fall into line and work under a shady system for their athletes to be successful so choice not to be involved.

Having read all comments I can’t understand why all Scottish teams can’t come together!
In doing so creating an amazing elite team of athletes, instead people are choosing to criticise those willing to stand up & be counted.
Teams such as JC & gold star would bring a lot to team Scotland however as both teams don’t seem to be involved then why knock CDC.
Having been to comps in Scotland & England CDC without question have amazing coaching staff with a wealth of experience & success. In my opinion I would be delighted for my child when old enough to compete as part of a national team. This is definitely something for children to be proud of...why any coach would stop a child participating is beyond me!!!!
