Hi all

How is everyone feeling about going back to comps eventually?

What are you expecting it to be like and are any coaches considering registering for and comps scheduled for next year?

I know everything is all up in the air but interested to hear people's thoughts x

Should EPs give teams money back now as it looks unlikely events will go ahead until at least summer??

Virtual for early on comps and large ones. We might get the smaller ones but I cant see us having spectstors or being allowed to stay all day, we will all have our allocated seats and kids cant move around as they used to with their friends

I think no spectators. In per age - Tiny & Mini all then awards.

I’m thinking that with virtual events we can enter more than we usually would as no travel/hotels etc.
Also cheaper than normal.

Yeah it might be cheaper than going away but its not the same and I think the prices iv seen so far are a bit high for what it is. Dont get me wrong I'm all for virtual comps if that's all we can do but it's not the same hype and excitement of being there in person.

Of course it’s not the same but the reality is it’s all we are gunna get:
As for price no one ever complains about Jamfest nationals and happily pays upto £50 to enter so I think £10/15 is absolutely fine.
Remember when legacy at 02 was £75 and some teams still paid it despite it being crap.

This is going to be our new normal so tbh it’s either do virtual or don’t do anything but keep taking your parents monies for training that’s going nowhere. I expect to see virtual comps from legacy very soon too.

1st in person, very restricted events (prob no spectators) not until at least April/May maybe even later.

BCA just announced 2 more virtual events start of next year.
Rebranded as ‘Virtual Victory Series’
Cost dropped to £10 too.
Plus doing some sort of league table where top scores from across the events gets full paid bids to BCA Nationals 2022.
That’s what their last email says.

So only teams in England will get to compete as wales on lockdown and Scottish teams aren’t allowed in there gyms. Due to the restrictions

Over 18 in Scotland can’t train 🙁 and it looks set to be like that for quite some time.
However they can train under 18s

I don’t think cheer will ever be the same again!!
If it is it will be a few years from now.. Just concentrate on your school work .. the cheer world could disappear unfortunately in all this Covid crap x but your career and your future should always be your main priority especially in these awful times

@post64 USASF have said it will either be virtual or in person. Which sounds to me like they aren't sure of the position with Disney either. Disneyworld still haven't opened half of their hotels up. They have reduced capacity in all parks. I'm struggling to imagine Disneyworld is forcing USASF to run their event right now. Its in Disney's interest to let this year slide again and not encourage thousands of teenagers onto Disney property.

Don't forget the contract of sale for entry fees is been between the EP and the Team/Uni for x number of athletes, not between the EP and each individual named athlete.

When you paid your entry fee you paid it to the Uni so your contract of sale is between yourself and the Team/Uni. Therefore you will need to speak with the Team/Uni to recover your funds not the EP.
