That does sound expensive, even legacy nationals are only £40! And I think they have discounts this year on top... what are the others charging for the big comps/ nationals? Is it public??

Are you sure your coach just isn't charging you £50?

£50 per person for 2.30 on the floor it’s getting ridiculous. Never mind a crossover

You are being charged an admin fee on top by your program. It's not £50 to enter under early bird (which i'm assuming your program is doing if they collect comp fees months in advance)

£4 admin fee is reasonable.

Coaches spend hours inputting athletes data into EP registration websites which they cant just copy and paste.

They also spend hours sorting out wristbands and comp tickets.

They shouldn't be expected to do this for free like you wouldn't expect them to spend 2 hours coaching you for free.

Personally I think Jamfest is ridiculous! Comp fees have always been higher.
But then on another note we all want bigger arenas and bigger productions. I think we forget that the venues put their costs up every year so presumably why the eps have to also.
Better judges requires more expenses, better trophies/banners/medals/staging/lighting/staffing etc etc list goes on and it all adds up.
Comp fees have to cover these costs so it’s kind of acceptable really.
It’s business after all.

I think £4 admin fee per athlete is a bit steep if you think a program with 100 athletes is making £400 for a bit of typing and I’d bet there’s also an admin fee for parents tickets which could be another £800.
Over £1000 in admin fees? And the club charging £50 is making £11 per athlete.
Cheer is expensive enough.

@post12, it isn't just 'a bit of typing'

Speak to any coach and they will tell you how many hours they spend inputting the data required and how frustrating it is to do it on inadequate systems.

Jamfest ontime entry was £52 this year with £30 crossovers! Absolute joke!

I would find another team if you are unhappy. We only paid £39 for Bournemouth as that is what they ask for to compete there.

@post99 I think @post87 might be right, I’m sure she was apart of galaxy for years and competed with them but also coached younger teams? That’s what I heard anyway.

@Post104, at worlds there are 12 areas you are scored in ellipse outscored ammo in 6 of those areas and ammo outscored ellipse. I don’t think people understand the worlds scoresheet is different to what is used at comps over here. Also saying ruby are at ammo standards, they were outscored by 2 other English teams at worlds.

@post102 actually bid winners generally go to teams that are going to represent the ep best. It’s not based on scores, as JAMfest states the bids will go to the 2 most deserving teams & as the posts above have stated the reasons that the all girl teams scored higher is because it’s easier to max out on All girl than co-Ed! Anyone with eyes that watched these teams this w.end would know the difference between a team that plays it safe & a team like Ammo that puts out a show which has the difficulty & American standard cheer routines that surely we all aspire to achieve! It’s not poor sportsmanship to be gutted for a team that puts out the performances like they do & not get the recognition for it! ! # JusticeforAmmo
