This is happening or has happened in so many gyms in the country!people don’t like to speak about it but it’s time to get the perverts out of the gyms/industry and protect our athletes.there are people who coach, train or are involved with cheer that should NOT be working with athletes!

To the person who expressed concern about abuse by the head coach of a particular club, whose post has been removed. I want you to know you are absolutely correct in your allegations. Emotional abuse has been happening at this club for years and the other coaches enable it. Athletes are kicked out for ridiculous reasons when they no longer ‘fit’. The club thinks that it owns its athletes and the head coach is a bully who threatens, intimidates and ridicules athletes and parents. They engage kids in inappropriate conversations as soon as they turn 16. I am damn sure many kids have experienced emotional damage as a result of their time at this club. In fact I know this is true in a number of cases. Parents need to wake up to this and stop thinking ‘it is what it is’. It’s abuse and it’s not ok. Just look at what’s happening in gymnastics at the moment.

To anyone who wants to dismiss this as BS and say they’ve had a positive experience, l’m happy for you, but please understand that there are many wonderful kids that actually have been treated badly. Everyone’s experience will be different. Not commenting further, just want to say whether you know who I’m talking about or not, I hope all coaches, parents and athletes are alert to this. Cheer coaches are just as responsible for welfare issues as anyone working with kids.

@post3 can you give me a name please of the club, looking for gyms for my child and would like to avoid them. You said you know for a fact and therefore it’s absolutely fine to name them.

If you want to protect your children you have to name and shame so everyone knows who to look out for and avoid, it’s not us ruining their lives, they have done that themselves by being abusive and predatory. Just came out that Robert Scianna has been arrested after soliciting sex from a child

The more people that come out and name people, the more people will feel come forward and share their story. I myself have been a victim of abuse from a coach and have never felt comfortable sharing my story incase of being shamed or called a liar

Over 18s are allowed to train individually or part of them same household so would be allowed to tumble and get new skills.
Check out Sport Cheer England's post.

Are you the same person that started the previous post about training in the gym before lockdown lifted? Provide your evidence or shut up

No one is supposed to have over 18s in gyms unless they are coaches so it shouldn't even matter if they have athletes over 18 training they arnt sticking to the rules
